Disneyland Honeymoon!

We finally got to take our "official" honeymoon December 14-18 in Disneyland! We had SO much fun. I am such a child! I woke up at 6am the first day but I knew Scott wouldn't get up; so I laid there until 7 and then woke him up :) We played hard and had a wonderful time! Enjoy the pictures.

Main Street at night :)

With the Cars!

We never did find Mickey anywhere. But we're happy about our picture with Goofy!
Our matching Disneyland sweatshirts. Awww....
Wet and cold after Grizzly Rapids. We enjoyed mid 60's most of the time; but the breeze was cold and at night it was REALLY cold.

Scott as Captain Jack Sparrow! I think he's rather dashing!

I couldn't talk Scott into wearing the Bride and Groom Mickey ears so I settled for a picture of me in the Minnie veil :)

Scott's Early Christmas Present

Scott has 2 passions: his wife, and trains!!! So I got him an early gift. He looked like a little boy while he was putting it together!

Now we just have to figure out where to put it.... the middle of our living room doesn't exactly work!

Today is the 1 year anniversary of the day Scott and I met. I can't help but smile when I remember that fateful night, Tuesday, November 21, 2006. So here's our story:
Our mutual friends, Catherine and Steven, (they're married now :) ) decided to throw a little dinner party. The night before Catherine called me, trying to get me to come. She told me Scott Shoell would be there - a little flirting never hurt anyone! I wasn't overly thrilled about going, but I told her I'd be there.
Once at the party, Scott and I didn't really even acknowledge each other's existence for the first hour or so while we were all cooking. We ended up being seated by each other at the table and began talking. That, as they say, was that. We chattered on and on and found interesting things that we have in common. During dinner, a certain ex-girlfriend kept texting him and the rest of the us at the party were trying to tell him not to answer since she was a manipulative little....ahem. Anyway, I grabbed his phone from him saying that I was going to text her back and say something mean. I didn't - instead, I texted myself from his phone so I had his number
Like I said, we chattered on and on and it was so surprising how much we had in common. When I got home that night "something" kept telling me to text him. I fought it and fought it, thinking that would be WAY too forward and stupid. I finally gave in. (He told me later he was kinda hoping I would text him!)
We texted back and forth all the next day, and the day after that (which was Thanksgiving) and the day after that... and then Saturday we went together to a BYU game watching party. We were together literally every day after that. We were the best of friends and had so much fun together, but we were just friends. He was coming out of a pretty tough relationship, and I was still kinda stuck on a guy I'd gone out with a few times.
After a couple of week of being inseparable friends, my dear mother, as casually as she could, mentioned she hadn't seen me so happy and heard me giggle so much in years. (and if you know me at all you know that that is significant!) I pondered this, and realised that I was happy and it was mostly due to Scott. Despite my will to fight it, I began to really like him; but I didn't want to ruin the friendship.
Unknown to me, Scott's mother told him the exact same thing that my mother said to me. He told me later that he was also fighting the idea, also not wanting to ruin the friendship.
Saturday, Dec. 8th: We decided to go up to Salt Lake City to see the lights at Temple Square and the movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Once in Salt Lake, we were running quite late for the film. Since Scott is 6'3 and half and I'm barely 5'4, I have to switch to a quick trot to keep up with his long legs. Apparently I wasn't keeping up enough, so he grabbed my hand and dragged me along. Being the complete dunce that I am, I didn't think anything of it. I just knew I have short legs and his are long and we were late.
While we walked around Temple Square to see the lights he took my hand again. This time it startled me a bit; but I didn't want to read too much into it.
Later we went to the Gateway to shop around a bit and I mentioned it - and he said, "and you notice I took your hand and didn't let go?".
And that was that!
By the way, we're still best friends! :)

Happy Spooky Days!

Scott standing in front of his favorite thing (other than me) a train!!! We rode the Heber Creeper for their "Haunted Canyon" ride. The speakers didn't work in our car so we pretty much sat in silence - which was all the more spooky! It was really dark and the snow was falling like crazy! The really scary part of the night was driving home in the canyon with heavy snow falling. But it was fun all the same.

This is a really creepy picture! The camera did something weird with our eyes.

Bye Elder Shoell!

October 2nd: We took Tom (Elder Shoell) to the airport where he left for his mission. He had a stop in Chicago, then a 12 HOUR lay-over in London, England; then on to South Africa. He sent a short email when he arrived and said he'd made it and he was fine :) We'll miss you Tom! (do you LOVE the height difference? Yeah...Scott is 8 years older than Tom)

Happy Birthday to Scott!

Monday night we had a little party at Scott's parent's house with dinner and a cake.

Today (October 10th) is the day! I brought him balloons at work and he was all embarrassed becasue he hadn't told anyone it was his birthday. Then I made him dinner and cupcakes when he got home. He turned 27 today!!!

REVENGE OF THE NERDS!

Scott and I spent Monday night battling it out in a game of "Star Wars" Trivial Pursuit. It's tough competition when you have two nerds such as ourselves playing! (Waiting for Michael Scott to say: Nerd. That is why you're not on the team.) Oh by the way - I WON!!! :)

Mark & Brian Singing

We are slowly but surely getting pictures back - so sorry for the oh-so-random order. This is Mark and Brian Carey (nephews) singing and playing "Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts :) We asked them to learn it (they're both musical geniuses if I hadn't mentioned that) and it was SO great!

We are SO happy!

The wedding day stress (but it was also really fun!) behind us we're happily settling into everyday life. We moved into our apartment in Provo and are liking it despite its small size :) We both jumped back into school and work and wish we could go back to Park City and keep relaxing.

Provo River Falls (honeymoon)

On Sunday the 19th we drove up to Provo Falls to further my waterfall obsession :) We had a lot of fun - Scott hadn't ever been there before. There were some professional photographers there - one offered to take our picture; this is it.
